Well all good things must come to an end! After running indie mp3 since 2001 (and before that the remarkably unpopular Tom's MP3 Reviews!) I think that we have taken it as far as we can. It's time to move on and concentrate even harder on the Lostmusic side of things.
We will be launching a CDR label in January 2009 with the début album from Knight School (which we are pretty excited about!) and we have a new split 7" single with Moscow Olympics and The Morning Paper coming out at the end of that month which is just simply amazing.
indie mp3 has been a great ride so it's best to quit at the top. We have just won the UV Best Overseas Blog Trophy from a Brazilian Internet Radio Station which will sit nicely along side our Top 10 placing at the Digital Media Awards where we finished ahead of the likes of Madonna as part of the "peoples" vote.
And what of our regular contributors? Well they can be found at:
Magnus is in Dyrdin
Larryhag is in Celestial
Colin has jointly started up a new club in Glasgow called Half My Heart Beats
Dunc runs Birmingham's Autumn Store
Russ runs Oxford's Swiss Concrete and now has his own review site
Nat Lady helps organise indietracks
And of course myself and Trev are at Lostmusic
I would just like to say a big thank you to all those, in addition to the above, who have contributed over the years and most importantly to all those people who made indie mp3 a regular read (and there are enough of you too). I would also like to thank those who I have had the privilege to have met as a result of this site at gigs, festivals or simply down the pub!
But it is not all bad news. Trev will be launching a new reviews e-zine under the Lostmusic banner and I will post a link to that soon. That means we will still accept submissions for review and they can be sent to the regular postal address. The indie-mp3.co.uk e-mail addresses will remain the same for the time being as will the My Space page.
Thanks again. Have a great Holiday season and a musically happy 2009! See you at the new place next year.
